Justice for Black Youth

Press Release

Support and Resources
for our Black Children

My name is Sal’Vyion, I am 13 years old.

Because I was a victim of a hate crime by an adult parent at my middle school, I felt compelled to lift my voice and speak out.

I want to share an important message represented by the letters of my name “SALVYION.” Each letter stands for something significant for our youth.

S – Safety for black kids
A – Advocacy for youth
L – Leadership (towards equal justice)
V – Vision for a better future
Y – Your voice matters
I – Initiate change in schools
O – Opportunities for all
N – NO TO RACISM
